Canggu runs on two clocks: the surf forecast and the café opening hours. Our teachers live on the same schedule. We've taught more classes in Canggu than in any other area of Bali — in villas tucked behind Batu Bolong, in guesthouses off Berawa beach road, and in the quieter lanes toward Pererenan where the rice fields still win.
The Canggu classic is the surfer's pairing: a strong vinyasa flow on flat days to keep paddle strength and shoulder mobility honest, and a deep yin session after big days, when hips and lower back have taken the punishment of a hundred pop-ups. Why a Private Class Beats Canggu's Studios
Canggu has excellent studios — and the worst traffic per kilometre in Bali. A 1.5 km scooter ride to a 9 am class can cost you twenty minutes and all your calm. A private class removes the commute entirely: the teacher arrives at your villa with mats, blocks and bolsters while you're still making coffee. Sunrise slots (06:00–08:00) are gold here — the air is cool, the lanes are quiet and you're done before the swell fills in.
Digital nomads ask us for recurring slots: the same teacher every Tuesday and Thursday at 07:00, billed as a discounted package. Couples and villa-shares around Berawa and Pererenan usually book the small-group class — one flat rate for up to six people makes it the cheapest way to practise daily.
