BaliPrivateYoga started in 2018 with one teacher, one scooter and a simple observation: visitors to Bali wanted to practise yoga, but the practice kept losing to logistics. Studio schedules clashed with surf windows. Traffic ate the calm a class created. Beginners felt watched; experienced students felt unseen in rooms of forty. Meanwhile every villa on the island had a poolside deck begging to be a shala.
So we flipped the model. The teacher travels; you don't. Eight years later, that one scooter has become a team of certified teachers covering everywhere from Canggu to Ubud, and the principle hasn't moved a centimetre: a private class, built around the actual body in front of us, in the place you're already staying.
Who Teaches You
Every teacher on the team holds at least a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification, and our senior teachers — who handle prenatal classes and teacher mentoring — hold 500-hour YTTs with specialised trainings in yin, prenatal and pranayama on top. Just as important: all of us live here. We know which Uluwatu track your villa hides behind, what the humidity does to a power flow at noon, and why a surfer's third day on the island calls for yin, not heroics.
How We Think About Yoga
- Adaptation over performance. The class meets your body where it is today — jet-lagged, surf-sore, pregnant, brand new, or ten years deep. Nothing is forced to fit a routine.
- Honesty over upsell. If three sessions will teach you to practise alone, we'll say so. If your shoulder needs a physio before it needs a chaturanga, we'll say that too.
- Foundations matter. Most yoga injuries are small mistakes rehearsed for years. Private teaching exists to catch them on day one — it's why we built the beginner course.
- Logistics are our job. Mats, props, scheduling, finding your gate — all ours. Your only task is to be home.
The Practical Bits
We teach daily from 06:00 to 19:00, everywhere listed on our areas page, at the prices published openly on the pricing page — no villa surcharges, no seasonal creep. Booking happens on WhatsApp because that's where you already are: one message about your level and goals, one reply with a teacher and a time. From there, it's just you, a mat we brought, and an hour that's entirely yours.
